KICB joined to the EBRD women entrepreneurship support program “Women in Business” / 23.11.2021

Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan, November 18, 2021- CJSC “Kyrgyz Investment and Credit bank” (KICB) and European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) signed the Loan Agreement in frames of the women entrepreneurship  support program “Women in Business”.

This program is aimed to the development of women entrepreneurship in Kyrgyz Republic, including support of small and medium business, which is managed by the women-entrepreneurs, and involves the activities on providing an access to financing, as well as innovations, necessary for the business development.

The Loan Agreement was signed by Bektur Aliev, the Chief Executive Officer of KICB CJSC, and Mr. Francis Malige, EBRD Managing Director in the sector of financial institutions. Under this Agreement it is planned to provide a financial package in the amount of USD 2 mln.

The program is implemented with support of the Financial Initiative for Women Entrepreneurs and the EBRD Small Business Support Fund, which is formed at the expense of funds of donor countries (Italy, Japan, Korea, Luxembourg, Norway, Sweden, Switzerland, Taipei, China and the USA).

“The signing of the Agreement will contribute to the creation of an effective support system for women’s entrepreneurship to additionally stimulate production and fill the market with goods and services, as well as to support the women, who start their own business in gaining experience and successfully run of their business.

The “Women in Business” program will include consulting services projects along with training, mentoring and long-term coaching to provide women with practical assistance from experienced professional mentors on attraction of loan funds for business expansion.

The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development has been actively cooperating with KICB for many years, and today the total amount of various types of financing for KICB from the EBRD is USD 36 400 000. Being one of the leaders in the banking system of Kyrgyzstan in the field of crediting, KICB uses credit lines of international financial institutions to finance projects in various areas of the economy: construction, transport, agriculture, services, etc.
