On May 14, 2014, the Aga Khan School (AKS) in Osh held its annual Science Fair where students presented their research projects in a number of scientific disciplines.
At the Fair’s opening ceremony, the CEO of the Aga Khan Education Services, Nakhat Abdulofizov, remarked: “It is a science festival today, where we will celebrate our young researchers. You’ll see for yourselves that they merit rewards for their hard and fruitful work”.
On the Fair was organized exhibition of works prepared by 48 students from 5th to 11th grades. To the attention of the jury, which included the honored guests, 29 works on chemistry, physics and biology were presented. Among the presented projects there were answers to the questions about the dangers or benefits of aspirin, nutrition supplements taken by athletes, solutions to the problems of recycling polyethylene, practice papermaking from old newspapers and producing electric motor from improvised means and other topics.
The students explained the details about the process of their seven-month research, demonstrated the results of research, and experiments.
Summarizing the results the jury announced the best research works, whose authors were awarded with certificates in the amount of 4,000 prepared by the representatives of the Aga Khan Development Network in Kyrgyzstan and KICB.
