Sprouts of hope / 20.04.2017

Bishkek, April 19, 2017. Over 2200 seedlings have been planted in two city kindergartens within the frameworks of the GreenFoundation project of KICB Bank. This year new green apparel has been presented to kindergarten ¹ 162 in Alamedin 1 micro-district and kindergarten ¹ 182 in the residential community “Kok-Zhar”.

The partners of the project are “Rosa Otunbaeva’s Initiative” IEF, the Aga Khan Development Network, the Kumtor Operating Company and the Department of Education under the Bishkek city mayor’s office.

Protection of the environment, involvement of the younger generation into the issues of ecology, training a careful attitude to the nature is a part of KICB’s corporate philosophy. The Green Foundation project is a symbolic of this noble drive forward.

The peculiarity of this campaign is that the sponsors and the partners themselves take part in planting of the trees making thereby their own contribution into landscaping of the educational institutions in the city. Thus, today kindergarten ¹ 182 in Kok-Zhar has accepted a large delegation of the visitors headed by Ms. Rosa Otunbaeva, the ex-president of the KR, a founder of the fund and Mr. Kwang Young Choi, the Chief Executive Officer of KICB Bank.

It shall be also noted that landscaping the adjacent territory of the kindergartens is controlled by the specialists of the municipal enterprise “Zelenstroi of Bishkek city” who have delivered quality seedlings to the pilot kindergartens and have provided a consultative assistance.

Initially the experts of this enterprise together with the representatives of “Rosa Otunbaeva’s Initiative” IEF  inspected several educational institutions that needed landscaping and chose these kindergartens taking into account local conditions, recommendations of ecologists and an intention and a desire of the administration to take care of the seedlings.

In addition, KICB has presented a new refrigerator and a vacuum cleaner to kindergarten ¹ 182.
